Eliminate heavy metals in the body

Introduction summary

The pollution is a part of everyday life.  Among pollutants, toxic metals (where do they hide ?) occupy an important place in particular the lead, the cadmium, the mercury.

The mouth, by the presence of metal amalgams, constitutes a major source of toxic metals, especially mercury, gold, silver, platinum, tin, palladium.

Consequently, toxic metals (see Heavy metals ... consequences) reduce the immune system, are neurotoxic and cause the formation of free radicals.

A mercury poisoning can cause tremors until the incapacity to work, or also glomerulonephritis, the kidneys are a prime target.

The aluminium as well as the Mercury would be involved in the etiology of Alzheimer disease and some forms of cancer such as lymphoma and reticulosarcoma.

As the titanium and the paladium, the Nickel is involved in the carcinogenesis.

  • Contact dermatitis to Ni is in significant growth in women and there is a clear relationship between pearcing and induction of allergy to Ni.
  • The fashion of pearcings anticipates increasing prevalence of the CFS at the man.
  • The allergy in Ni is associated with CFS and FM with or without auto-immunity.
  • Not only the corrosion of dental amalgams, but also the orthopedic implants, may cause a rejection, a dermatitis or poor healing in patients sensitized.
  • There is a role of oxidative stress in the genotoxicity of Cr and Ni.
  • The phagocytosis of particles of composed of Ni and their dissolution in the nucleus induced an oxidative stress with gene mutation.
  • The Fibromyalgia improves when the tobacco abstinence (Cd, Ni).

Identification and description of the pathologies summary

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) - Therapeutic record - summary

The major criteria of Holmes are the presence of fatigue for 6 months or more and the exclusion of organic disease or psychiatric causing similar symptoms.  The Fukuda criteria (1994) is a softened definition in regard to the minors criteria of Holmes (1988).

The fatigue is when the rest brings no considerable improvement and results by a clear reduction of the professional, school or social activites.

It is a persistent or occasional fatigue present for at least 6 months or more, associated with the presence of 4 symptoms or more among the following ones  (CFS Fukuda criteria) :

1.  Disorders of the short-term memory or the concentration enough important to perturb significantly the activities
2.  Sore throat
3.  Cervical adenopathy or axillary painful
4.  Myalgia
5.  Arthralgias diffuses without tumefaction or redness
6.  Headaches
7.  Non-restorative sleep
8.  Malaise after effort persisting, of more 24 hours

CFS inclusion of 10 symptoms (Canadien Expert Consensus Panel) :

1.  Hot flashes
2.  Paralysis
3.  New sensibility to medicines and foods (electrosensibility, heavy metals
hypersensitivity)
4.  Cold extremities
5.  Gastrointestinal symptoms
6.  Speaking difficulty
7.  Dyspnoea on exertion
8.  Inattention
9.  Muscles fasciculation
10. Empty head

The biological basis of CFS

A chronic activation of the interferon system has been observed mainly in monocytes, in patients suffering from SFC.

The cell infected by a virus defends itself first by the production of interferons and these will lead to a series of other genes which the 3 mains are the PKR, the 2-5 OAS and the 2-5 OAS-like.

The 2-5 OAS is an enzyme that polymerizes ATP into several oligomers. They bind to RNase L (for latent) which is active from this time.

During this dimerization, it can cut RNA (of viral or cellular origin).

In some patients with CFS, we observed abnormal functioning of this RNase.

The PKR works on two levels, induce the cell suicide, or block it.

Macrophagic Myofasciitis - Therapeutic record - summary

The clinical picture is dominated by a chronic muscle symptoms.

The myalgia is predominant to the lower limbs (calf).

The asthenia is intense, with muscular fatigue in the slightest exertion (95 % of cases), without other pathology.

There is never real arthritis, and arthralgia affecting the large peripheral joints (60% of cases).

The CPK and the CRP are moderately high, the auto-antibodies are negative.

The muscular biopsy allows the diagnosis.

The electronic microscopy shows crystals intramacrophagic constituted by A1 phosphate.

The subjects are predisposed to aluminic adjuvants of vaccinal origin ?

Alzheimer - Therapeutic record - summary

The disorders are mnemic and the disease evolves in variable speed until the loss of initiative and complete asthenia.

The senile plaques (neuritic) are located in the cortex and hippocampus. They consist of a core of amyloid B protein surrounded by damaged axons and dendrites.

The neurofibrillary loops are transformed into aggregates by an excessive phosphorylation..

In both lesions is added the cortical atrophy.

The oxidative damage by metals (Al, Fe, Zn, Cu), their dysregulation and their accumulation in brain tissue, provoke the formation of free radicals.

The chelation makes an attractive treatment.

Biochim Biophys Acta.2005 sep 25;1741(3):246-252.

Parkinson - Therapeutic record - summary

Parkinson's disease (PD) is characterized by a progressive degeneration of nigrostrial dopaminergic pathways causing dyskinesia.

The fact that we can observe signs and mechanisms of evolution of clinical manifestations of Parkinson syndrome in cases of poisoning by manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) as well as in cases of carbon monoxide poisoning and magnesium (Mg) deficiency, drew the attention on the role of "heavy" metals in this context.

It seems more and more recognized and accepted that the presence of heavy metals in the body can play a significant role in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson's being one of the most common), in particular by facilitating and amplifying the formation of free radicals very harmful, because that can cause serious damage such as breakage of DNA and mitochondrial and neuronal lesions.

Fibromyalgia - Therapeutic record - summary

Is a chronic, generalized pain condition with caracterised tender points on physical examination, often accompanied by a number of associated symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbance, headache, irritable bowel syndrome, and mood disorders.

FM affects at least 2% of the  adult population in the US.  The evidence shows that the syndrome is influenced by factors such as stress, medical ilness, and pain conditions in some, but not all patients, as well as variety of neurotrasmiter and neuro endocrine changes.

Such changes include reduced levels of biogenic amines, increased concentrations of biogenic aines, increased concentrations of hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis and autonomic nervous system activity.

A set of treatments are used to treat the various symptoms of fibromyalgia. This includes neuromodulators medicines such as antidepressants, opioids, nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs, sedative, muscle relaxants, and anti-epileptics.

Evaluating therapeutic effects in FM is difficult because of many effects of the many facets of the syndromes (The Journal of Rheumatology  2005; 32-11)

Tramadol, recombinant human growth hormone (IGF-1, the mediator of GH activity and plays a role in muscle repair), tricyclic antidepressants, SSRI, SNRI,  Pregabalin (binds to calcium channel in the CNS) are used.

The mere presence of toxic metals is sufficient to cause the clinical setting met.

The nickel poisoning causes the biggest pains.

Autism - Therapeutic record - summary

Among the possible causes, some vaccinations, like MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) administered to children between 12 and 18 months.

There is also the debate about mercury contamination of certain fish (mackerel, tuna, sea bream) given the particular sensitivity of the CNS to the toxic action of methylmercury during the fetal development in pregnant women, nursing mothers and young children. The average age of diagnosis is around 3 years.

There is an important genetic involvement, with an implication multi-genetic and an environmental interaction.

A child with autism may not speak at all or have limited language, will have difficulty to play or make friends, can be sensitive to auditory stimulation, gustatory, olfactory, physical and visual in a unusual way.

Attention Deficit Disorders with or without Hyperactivity - Therapeutic record - summary

Various studies have demonstrated the role of toxic metals and pollutants in connection with the ADD/H.

We found an association between lead levels in blood plasma and the probability of being diagnosed ADD / H as well as a synergistic effect between the lead, cadmium and aluminum.

Here also certain vaccinations and the role of a placental transfer are not neglected.

In a group of children whose lead levels were particularly high, chelation therapy gave a significant improvement in cases of hyperactivity, impulsivity, and behavioral problems and learning disabilities.

Is a disorder associated with dysfunction in the development of frontal-striatum circuits involved in cognitive functions of sustained attention, control of activity and inhibition of impulsivity.

Like autism, they have a polygenic predisposition modulated by environmental factors.

The impregnation by alcohol of fetal, prematurity and head trauma are risk factors.

The child is difficult since the age of the crib, at about 7 years is threatened with being excluded from school. It is disruptive, dangerous in the playground, is considered as a bad student, can not sit and concentrate, gets up steadily and never ends what he started.

Very hard for the family and source of suffering for the child, he must be recognized and treated.

The differential diagnosis must be made with : the normal child but turbulent, dreamy child, the mental deficient child, the opposing child, the tyrant, depressed and anxious.

Postscript : The electrosensibility and heavy metals - summary

The radiation used in mobile telephony are in very high frequency radiation or radiation in the range of microwaves.

The technical characteristic of the GSM waves is that the information is sent by the pulse train. The wave of very high frequency is modulated by pulse. This is the type of modulation of very high frequency wave whose generating components in low frequencies (217Hz and 8.3Hz)

There is thus simultaneous presence of the very high-frequency which is the carrier wave, and of the low frequency which results from the type of modulation to transmit the information signal ie the telephone communications.

According to the scientific observations, the pulsed waves have a faster and more fatal influence on the biological systems of the human body.

The Salzburg Resolution on pulsed waves sets a lower limit of protection

A European standard exists ! the S.A.R, or Specific Absorption Rate.

When a human body, or any other material object, is subjected to an electromagnetic wave, it reflects a part of the power density and absorbs another one.  This one is the rate of specific absorption which is measured in W/kg. It is allowed that for a human body, a density of incidental power of 1 milliwatt by square centimeter corresponds in average to a SAR of 0.4 W/kg. The standard imposed by the European Union is 0.08 W/kg on average and 2W/kg locally, which keeps a generous margin of safety compared to the observed effects. To inform the consumers, the Stewart Commission, in May 2000, recommended to indicate the SAR on the packaging of every telephone.

The components of TMD were the object of numerous publications.

TMD is an integral part of all therapeutic programs or assistance specifically developed for each disease associated with heavy metals, whether ...

Chronic fatigue syndrome
Fibromyalgia

Autism
ADD/hyperactivity

Will not be considered in the strategy :- summary

  • DMSA, DMPS, EDTA - indeed ...

When they are not prohibited (DMSA), these substances are drugs or tests that must be used cautiously, on specialized prescription and in hospital settings because of possible significant side effects :

- Hepatotoxicity, bone marrow depletion, trace elements imbalance
- Nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, flatulences, fatigue
- Neutropenia
- Severe thrombocytopenia
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome
- Lyell's syndrome
- Acute toxic epidermal necrolysis

  • CHLORELLA, Coriander, wild garlic - indeed ...

When it does not cause itself a contribution of metals due to the environmental pollution, it seems that we act here more in movement than in capture, besides, no publication confirms the effectiveness of chlorella, if it is not and in a quite relative way on some forms of mercury, and only in a single action of drainage. (read Chlorella, a herban legend)

Coriander and wild garlic may have an effect but limited and too specific to be useful in the context of an overall strategy action of all the concerned metals.

Besides, it is a protocol giving rise to a very large quantity ingestion of substances (several tens of units per day) can induce various digestive disorders. - summary
