Acne is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous follicle. This produces the filament seborrheic which agglutinates in cementum: the comedo. If the follicle is open, it is black, if it remains closed, it ignites and will appear white. 

Acne is a chronic skin condition which affects most people at a point in their life. It causes red patches and buttons which grow on the skin, usually on the face, back and chest. The symptoms of acne can be light, moderate or severe. Acne is often caused by hormonal changes triggered during puberty.
Acne can cause great distress and has a negative effect on the quality of life of a person and his self-esteem. Therefore, healthcare professionals recognize that this condition requires an effective and sometimes aggressive treatment. Acne is the most common type of skin disorders. It is most common at the child's in the puberty, the teenagers and the young adults.
About 80% of 11 to 30 years are affected by acne. Most cases of acne occur in girls between the ages of 14 and 17 years, in boys the most common onset is between 16 and 19 years.
Most people will experience repeated episodes, or flare of acne for several years to find that their symptoms begin gradually to improve as they age. Symptoms of acne usually disappear when a person exceeds twenty.
However, in some cases, acne can continue into adulthood.  With about 5% of women and 1% of men over age 25 who continue to experience symptoms.
With treatment, the outlook is generally good. Treatments can last between two and three months and the results are generally effective.  About 90% of people who use a treatment against acne see a 50% improvement in their symptoms after three months. The most effective treatments against acne are sometimes very heavy of side effects. Once symptoms are under control, additional treatments may be used to prevent acne. In case of severe acne, scarring can occur.
