• Alchemilla vulgaris (Lady's mantle) is a plant of low toxicity which presents a good progesteronic activity. Traditionally used to fight against hyperoestrogenism in premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea, as well as in the premenopause, it presents an anti-fibroid action related to its hormonal effects, but it also contains flavonoid heterosides that are antihemorrhagics and improve the dysfunctional uterine bleeding of any origins.
• Vitex Agnus Castus (Chaste Tree) is a plant whose fruit is used, it stimulates the release of LH and inhibits FSH release. That means it stimulates the secretion of natural progesterone by reducing the production of estrogen. The Chaste Tree, well studied recently, presents a second important action, it slow down the secretion of prolactin by a similar action as the dopamine. This regulation of prolactin leads by a direct action on the hypothalamus to stop the hyperestrogenism, and in the increase demonstrated by the rate of progesterone resulting in restoration of estrogen-progesterone ratio by two axes which favors the decrease of fibroids.
• Achillea Millefolium (Common Yarrow), has an anti-inflammatory and diuretic action, its hormonal activity is low compared to its antioxidant activity, it unblocks the small pelvis.
• Vitis Vinifera (Red Vine) has as main constituents of anthocyanoside and phenolics compounds and proanthocyanidols ; the anthocyanoside presents an important vitamin P activity that fights venous insufficiency and capillary fragility. Tannins, in turn, favor the contraction of the muscle cells of blood vessels. The proanthocyanidols of red vine leaves have an anti-free radicals action and stabilize the collagen in the membranes of the vessels. The vine red is used for the symptomatic treatment of functional disorders of capillary fragility and adds its antihaemorrhagic effect in the treatment of fibroids.

• Urtica Dioica (stinging nettle) Rich in carotene, vitamin C, potassium and calcium, it contains beta-sitosterol and flavonoids quercetin, rutin, and kaempferol. Its main action is anti-inflammatory, antipain, haemostatic and remineralizing. These are different properties which make it a plant of choice for the fibroid treatment.
• Vitamin E It will complement these actions. Composed of several fractions including alpha-tocopherol which is the most important. Antioxidant, it acts by regulating hormonal disorders which triggers fibroids. It opposes fibrosis in general and combined with plants which intensifying their action. It ensures the stability of cellular structures. Its action on fibrosis has been documented in particular in fibrosis caused by exposure to radiation. Its lack of toxicity, even at high doses and its effectiveness are an additional choice in the treatment of fibroids.

In addition, we may add : Age Superieur (Oenothera Biennis) is activated by essential fatty acids precursors of PGE1 et PGE2. Nontoxic, it is used mostly as oil capsules. The evening primrose is rich in gamma-linolenic acid, omega-6 series, biological precursor of prostaglandins that inhibit phospholipase A2, thereby blocking the arachidonic cascade thus the inflammatory processes, vascular accidents and allergic diseases. Its anti-inflammatory power makes it an essential supplement in the treatment of uterine fibroids.
