Reasons for the choice of components

-Alpha lipoïc acid :

It is a powerful antioxidant, ubiquitous, that is capable of acting both in aqueous middle (within cells) as in lipids environment (cell membranes) which neutralizes the ions superoxide, hydroxyl, peroxide, singlet oxygen etc...

But it is also capable of regenerating other antioxidants such as vitamin C, glutathione which in turn regenerates vitamin E.

The glutathione anti-oxidant system is the main protective mechanism of the cell, particularly for the liver, but it is also a key factor in developing an effective immune response.

The sylimarin :

Principle active extract of Milk Thistle is known for many years for its protective action at level of  the hepatocyte.

It protects against many hepato-toxic substances.

A magazine of the literature concerning 452 patients poisoned by the amanita phalloides shows a clear protective action of the sylimarine: 9,1 % of mortality against 18,3 % for the patients having received the standard treatment..

This hepatocytes protective effect, practice at once, by a regulating action of the membrane permeability through an effect on the molecules of transport, by an inhibitive effect of the way of the lipo-oxygénase, by an action of neutralization of the reagent sorts of the oxygen and by an action at the level of the D.N.A. by deleting, for example, the factor of transcription NF kappa B.

Selenium

The Selenium is a cofactor of glutathione peroxidase. We know the essential role of the reduced glutathione as antioxidant system and in the development of an effective immune response.

Many studies have shown especially its role in the synthesis of interferon, in the synthesis of antibodies and the development of cell-mediated response.
