Technical Sheet
Reasons for the choice of components
• Camellia sinensis: rich in theine : this plant seems to have a preventive effect against Parkinson's disease, its antioxidant effect slows its progress. Its stimulating effect restores alertness without increasing tremors.
• Grape seeds : they contain bioflavonoids such as Procyanidolic Oligomers (PCO) at a very high rate. These substances help fight against the factors of aging, free radicals. This antioxidants is 50 times more effective than vitamin E.
• Cocoa : contains tannins and alkaloids including theobromine and caffeine. It is stimulating and acts by enhancing the moral and cognitive abilities, it makes loose weight slightly and stimulates motor activity without increasing tremors. The balance of fatty acid gives an anti-inflammatory action. Its antidepressant action is due to inhibition of MAO (monoamine oxydase).
• Gentiana lutea : roots are used for their high level of xanthone and triterpenes. The plant is relaxing, it reduces the tremor without provoking sedation. Xanthone has an antidepressant action by inhibition of MAO in the same way as cocoa, the inhibition exerted preferentially MAO-B
• R-Alpha lipoic Acid : This is a very powerful antioxidant. It is part of B group vitamins. Its role is essential in energy metabolism. Indeed, it is the cofactor of pyruvate dehydrogenase and is found in the reduced form with two-SH after performing its catalytic role in the Krebs cycle.
• Glutathione : The glutathione A is a tripeptide - the γ glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine - cofactor of the destruction of free radicals of oxygen (ROS). In a poisoning with heavy metals, its activity is blocked. Also, heavy metals inhibit the metabolism of mitochondria, whose role is to reduce oxygen in water. This inhibition of mitochondrial metabolism leads to the formation of ROS. A intake of reduced glutathione (GSH) allows to maintain a normal level of ROS. Also note that the GSH is involved in the synthesis of prostaglandin H2 thus regulating inflammation.
• Vitamin D : patients reached by Parkinson's disease are deficient in vitamin D. This link between the risk of developing Parkinson's disease and a low levels of vitamin D has been confirmed. Supplementation is almost always indicated.
• Vitamin B6 is a support for the nervous system, important in brain function and enzyme activity.
• Vitamin C under the form of Acerola is twenty times richer than oranges, making a favorable antioxidant supplementation to slow the disease.
