Choice of main components

The reduces glutathion :

It is a tripeptide, consisting by a molecule of three amino acids which are: glycine, cysteine and glutamic acid. It is an intracellular anti oxidant extremely effective because of its extremely powerful grouping thiol.

It constitutes in association with the selenium, the glutathion peroxydase.

This enzyme, also intra-cellular, is extremely active against chemical poisons such as : carbon tetrachloride, benzene, herbicides, pesticides, solvents, detergents and heavy metals such : lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, etc...

We can say that the anti-oxidant glutathione system is the main protective mechanism of the cell but is also a crucial factor for the development of the immune response.

Alpha lipoic acid

This is the key mitochondrial antioxidant.
Alpha lipoic acid acts as an antioxidant directly in neutralizing a variety of free radicals and oxygen reactive species such as hydroxyl radicals or singlet oxygen, and chelating heavy metals, but also indirectly by recycling of other anti-oxidants and increasing levels of intracellular glutathione.

The antioxidant power of alpha lipoic acid is more powerful than vitamins C and E or of Coenzyme Q10.

Currently it is probably the antioxidant most powerful ever discovered.

The Pycnogenol

It is a bioflavonoid, extract from grape seeds.

Many studies have shown that it is also a powerful anti-oxidant: several times more powerful than vitamins E and C, which also recycles vitamin C, regenerates vitamin E and increases the effectiveness of systems endogenous antioxidant enzyme.

The Glycine Betaine base

Because as a "methyl donor" it allows the conversion of homocysteine to methionine who, with ATP, will give S-adenosyl-methionine which itself allows to increase levels of intracellular glutathione.
