Natural treatment for Hyperferritinemia

natural treatment Hyperferritinemia

What is "Hyperferritinemia" ?

We talk about ferritinemia when the blood ferritin level exceeds 300 µg/l in men and 150 µg/l in women.

The liver is an organ that assume specific roles in the body. The feritine is a protein that is used for storage of iron in the liver, bone marrow or spleen. Therefore, when the iron is reduced, the amount of ferritin made decrease. And conversely, if the iron increased, the amount of ferritin also increases.

However, other causes may increase iron overload, and increase ferritin. That would explain a disease that is heavier, the hyperferritinemia. In this case, the blood test reveal a ferritin which exceeds 150 nanograms per milliliter in men and 100 nanograms per milliliter in women.  The main causes of hyperferritinemia are the increased of synthesis by induction like particularly by alcohol, inflammatory syndrome and true iron overload, the liver or muscle cell lysis and in rare circumstances or genetic deregulation, that is ie by mutation of the gene for L-ferritin.  For information, ferritin varies with age and physiological condition of a person. For example, a pregnant woman has a lower rate than other women. And in menopause, it increases dramatically. Thus, only a doctor and specific tests can define the hyperferritinemia.  We usually detects this high ferritin by MRI or magnetic resonance imaging to calculate the hepatic density. The treatment of this condition depends of course of the cause. It will be different depending on whether hyperferritinemia is due to cirrhosis, hepatitis, hemochromatosis or simply inflammation etc.  There are solutions based on specific adequate group of plants against hyperferritinemia which consists in taking cytoprotective agents, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic. You can also use the bloodletting. Sugary foods are limited when one is suffering from hyperferritinemia especially during treatment by bloodletting. And as for any other illness, alcohol is categorically to avoided.
